Information
Senator Kevin Coughlin introduced Senate Bill 224 on January 13, 2010. This bill requires the sale or lease of the Ohio Lottery and the Ohio Turnpike to a private entity(ies) in order to fund the Ohio Promise Scholarship Program.
In this present day economy, burdened with unemployment, a shrinking tax base, and low citizen morale, why pass a bill which will ultimately further contribute to these negatives? For these stated reasons and others too numerous to mention, I strongly urge you to oppose Senate Bill 224. Please vote against it and any others that would wrench control from the successful Ohio Turnpike Commission. Keep our Turnpike and its jobs here in Ohio and under Ohio control.

Toll Road Privatization May Result In Indirect Impacts
